Dan Hillier lives as an artist working from Hackney in East London. He makes his work by mixing collaged elements taken from 1800s sources with his own drawing, using traditional pen and ink and digital tablet. Taking influence from ancient art traditions, religious iconography, spiritual practices, psychedelics and nature, as well as artists such as Max Ernst, Gustav Dore and the artisan engravers of the Victorian era, Dan's work has been shown in galleries as diverse as the Louvre in Paris, the Saatchi Gallery in London and Think Conservatory in New York City. His work also occasionally collaborates with others, most recently with the UK Brit Award winners Royal Blood, providing artwork for their eponymous number one album, and with Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London where his work is theming the ongoing 'Wonder' season of 2016 - 2017.
