Kate MccGwire arranges feathers in elegant cascades

Who sees Kate MccGwire sculptures for the first time will be certainly curious about the material this artist uses, bird feathers. Growing up on the Norfolk Broads, Kate has been always fascinated by nature and she feels an inner connection to birds. To create these unconventional sculptures the artist is preparing for the creative process meticulously. She starts from collecting feathers of different birds then she proceeds with washing them getting ready. Afterwards the feathers are layered with almost a maniacal precision which makes the result look similar to real creatures.
