Olesya Serchenko is a young fashion Russian-Finnish designer located in Helsinki, Finland. She was born in a small town in Southern Russia, where she also spent her childhood and teenage years. Her dream has been always to become a professional fashion designer. That dream kept living through the years until august 2009, when she started her fashion education in Tampere Vocational College, Finland. Shortly after that she was accepted to study fashion design at Aalto-University in Helsinki. In 2016, she had the honour to be elected as a finalist in the International Talent Support Competition with my “ON THE EDGE” BA final collection in Trieste, Italy.
In May 2017, Olesya Serchenko launched her brand, “NO.RR 312”. NORR means “Northern” in Swedish, and number 312 is an exception-code in SQL programming language. Her main goal is to develop NO.RR 312 as a high profile fashion brand by researching new materials and techniques. Serchenko's aesthetic is a balance of controversies, a mix of dramatic chic and laconic elegance with some harshness. She takes inspiration from history and modern technologies combining then their opposite bases into a new form. “ON THE EDGE” collection gets its inspiration from Russian national costume on the turn of the 19th century, just before the Russian Revolution. It represents a different point of view on stereotypes of so-called Russianness. She is mixing archaic shapes, ornaments and techniques with modern details, accessories and materials.
