5 New Releases You Can't Miss This Week
Khalid & Disclosure - Talk
Khalid released one of our favourite albums of 2018 in the from of Suncity, now he's returned and teamed up with London favourite duo Disclosure for the huge Talk. The track is co-written by Disclosure, and is the first single from the Texas singer's upcoming Sophomore album, which is slated to release in April. Talk is the perfect blend of smooth R&B with an electronic flair. It's bouncy with glitches and synths sprinkled throughout.
Mahalia - Do Not Disturb
Rising RnB singer Mahalia is set to make waves in 2019, topping Ones To Watch lists across the board. Do Not Disturb is the first single of the year from Mahalia, and sees her reunite with "Surprise Me" and That's OK producer Felix Joseph. It's a defiant, up tempo bop, with its sharply defined melody, staunch vocal, and impeccable production.
Otherkin - Tombstone
Dublin rockers Otherkin return with a brand new single, their first new song since the 2017 release of their debut album OK. Entitled Tombstone, this is the new sound of a band brimming with ideas and energy. Co-produced by the band and Steve Dub, famed for his work with The Chemical Brothers, the new track shows a band putting it all on the line. Fuzzier, harder, fizzing with energyTombstone is a clear statement of intent.
Jessie Ware - Adore You
London singer Jessie Ware is back with an electro-soul number called Adore You. Out now, the track features Jessie working in collaboration with Metronomy's Joe Mount, while James Ford provides the final mixdown. Jessie comments: “I’ve wanted to work with Joe for such a long time and this is the first thing we did in the studio together. This is Adore You. It’s just a little something to tie you over with until my next release. It feels fitting to put this out when I’m about to become a new mum again and feel the most confident I’ve ever felt about my music. Happy Valentines, I adore you all.”
Fox Blanco - VR
Fox Blanco. The Swedish three-piece first came to attention back in 2017 with their debut single Change The World (hitting over 30 million streams), and have been making waves ever since. An organic, deeply musical approach to their songwriting means that their brand of electronic pop runs deep: they have crafted a highly sophisticated signature sound that develops with each new project. New single 'VR' is a stellar example of this.
