Oxygem Is A Smart Ring That Monitors The Blood Oxygen Level
Oxygem is a smart ring designed by Hussain Almossawi to provide people with Sickle Cell Disease a better lifestyle and prevention treatment. Sickle Cell Disease has a death rate of 1 per week in a 1,000,000 population. The ring proposes a smart way to prevent death rate with its inside sensors function. It does so by measuring oxygen saturation (SpO2) in the blood and informs the user by showing off different range of lights and radial lines to indicate the level of oxygen. The ring has an e-ink display around it with abstract patterns and shapes which light up depending on the seriousness of the situation.
Apart from being a ring of medical prevention is designed to suit easily and effortlessly the user's preferences coming in different colors and lights preferences along with its oxypower charger. What's more the ring get synced with the user's phone automatically via the oxygem app which tracks level of Spo2, hydration, heart rate, activity and stress level and provides relevant advices i.e. drink more water or communicates with doctors in extreme cases. The design process of Oxyxem is based on a human centered design approach which is adaptable to user needs. By being wearable and efficient for suiting in the everyday life of people it enables them to worry less about their disease.
